USPA NEWS - After several days of strikes and major demonstrations across France against the pension reform project, the Prime Minister's announcements were eagerly awaited. It is clear that the proposals presented today only confirm what we already knew: the government proposes the implementation of a universal system by points - the value of which will be set by the social partners, making the forecast on the amount of future pension impossible. The reform also provides for the abolition of 42 so-called "special" regimes and the establishment of a pivotal age at 64 and a bonus-penalty system from 2027." After several days of strikes and major demonstrations across France against the pension reform project, the Prime Minister's announcements were eagerly awaited.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is clear that the proposals presented today only confirm what we already knew: the government proposes the implementation of a universal system by points - the value of which will be set by the social partners, making the forecast on the amount of future pension impossible. The reform also provides for the abolition of 42 so-called "special" regimes and the establishment of a pivotal age at 64 and a bonus-penalty system from 2027.------------------------------------------------------------ All this is unacceptable. The objective of the government´s project is to extend working hours (64 and over) and penalize those who leave earlier through the bonus-malus system. In addition, this reform will penalize women who are being deprived of the 8 trimesters per child from which they benefited until then. The average amount of pensions will be reduced since the entire career will be taken into account instead of the best 25 years for private sector employees or the last 6 months for public sector employees. Finally, this reform amounts to accepting the new faces of precariousness by in no way calling into question the imposed part-time work, the uberization of employment or the precarization of professional careers. For the rest, many promises regarding the consideration of hardship criteria (referring to future decrees their definition), the upgrading of careers in education or those of nurses and life assistant .Environmentalists are part of a radically different vision: our goal is social progress. The extension of the working life is the deterioration of the quality of life for all. Ecologists are protesting against this orientation which is the main axis of this reform. No, Prime Minister, this reform does not conform to the ideal of justice and solidarity that we defend. For all these reasons, EELV remains committed to the ongoing social movement and will participate in all initiatives aimed at the withdrawal of pension reform. Source : EELV
